Hey! I’m Shyam.
Full name Shyamalan Kannan. I’m a software engineer in Seattle. I build backend systems and tools for coding agents (AI programs that write and edit code) in Python, TypeScript, and Rust.
Right now I’m a Software Developer Intern at Jevan, building restaurant-operations software with Next.js, PostgreSQL, and Cloudflare. I’m on OPT and open to full-time backend and agent-tooling roles. Happy to relocate.
Some things I’ve built:
unimem gives Claude Code, Codex, and Cursor one shared memory in a single SQLite file. Bread is a Rust layer that limits what a coding agent reads and refuses an edit if the file changed since the agent read it. omfx is my own coding agent in Zig, and it undoes an edit if the file no longer parses.
Contributed to:
Fixes and features in other people’s open-source projects. Hermes Agent is Nous Research’s agent that you talk to through Discord, Slack, Telegram, or Feishu. OpenChamber wraps the OpenCode CLI in a desktop app. Babylon.js is a 3D engine for the web, and I added flexbox layout to its GUI.
